Methodology
- Runes messages: transactions with an
OP_RETURN + OP_13output script (script prefix6a5d), scanned by our own full node — no third-party indexer involved. - P2TR output txs: transactions with any Taproot output (
bc1p, script prefix5120). This is an approximation of inscription minting; exact inscription counts require an ord indexer. - Inscription activity (approx.): transactions where any input witness contains the
ordmagic (6f7264) — an approximation of inscription mint/transfer activity. - History trend: the backend indexes every block into SQLite, backfilling the last 288 blocks (~2 days) on first start and adding new blocks every 60 seconds. The longer it runs, the more complete the 7-day and 30-day views become.
- Network-layer metrics come from the public mempool.space API; node-layer metrics come from our own Bitcoin Core full node.
- If a data source is unavailable the dashboard keeps the last successful data and flags it in amber.
